Six years ago, I met Pete when he shyly came to me to have a silver ring designed. He didn’t want to say much about the occasion or who it was for, though it was obviously for someone quite dear to him. The dead ringer? The uncontrollable blushing…
So, here is their story…
What made you decide to go with a custom ring?
When Pete decided to propose to me, he knew he wanted to do something special and unique. As an artist it was important to him to be able to express himself and them through the design process, especially a piece of jewelry that is so meaningful and important.
How satisfied are you with your rings?
We love our rings…. they mean so much to us and the fact that they were simply and beautifully executed has made me never get tired of looking at it every day for the last 6 years.
What about the work makes the rings special and did you enjoy the creative process of designing your rings with Ashley Brodie?
I think what makes our rings so special is that they represent us as a couple so well. It was great being able to work so closely with our designer (Ashley Brodie) to make that happen. And since I wasn’t a part of my wedding band design process (Pete wanted it to be a surprise) I love that there was a feminine touch in the execution of the ring, it is the perfect combo of Pete’s idea and beautiful execution by a very talented jeweler.
Tell us about your rings.
Our rings are a pair and they represent our art and music that we have poured our lives into together from the day we met. Our musical and art project goes by the name Birds and Arrows. We have always felt this name has great masculine and feminine connotations and our rings do as well. Pete thought it would be special to have the masculine symbol of the arrow wrapped around my finger and the feminine bird images around his.
